AWWAWINE Mentorship Program
The Alliance of Women in Washington Wine is now accepting applications for mentors and mentees! We are recruiting skilled industry leaders, allies and advocates to mentor tomorrow’s movers and shakers as we champion the advancement of women and diversity in the wine industry. This is your chance to be part of the first cohort actively shaping a new future in Washington Wine.
Our Goal
The goal of the AWWaWine mentorship program is to provide a formal one-on-one mentoring structure to foster a pragmatic and inclusive culture of development and learning for growing professionals in our industry. We strive to help our members develop their talent, business acumen and leadership skills. Advancing individuals in our community through mentorship will serve to further our representation, opportunities and leadership in the wine industry.
Participant Goals
General program participant goals include:
- Sharing and learning leadership skills & practices
- Sharing and learning technical and trade information
- Establish long term professional relationships
Mentor Goals
- Commit to meet with your mentee at least once a month
- Be open to sharing practices and ideas to support mentee’s growth
- Support mentees to develop and work towards their goals for their mentorship time
- Be an advisor and teacher of leadership & trade practices
- Model and support networking efforts and skills
- Be a compassionate supporter and advocate
- Be a good listener and hold confidentiality
- Communicate as needed with the AWWA program administration
Mentee Goals
- Commit to meet with you mentor at least once a month
- Participate completely in all program activities
- Be open to learning and reflective of feedback
- Be proactive and clear about your learning goals
- Come prepared to all meetings with your mentor
- Communicate consistently and be respectful of time
- Communicate as needed with the AWWW program administration
